Unterschied zwischen Wildkatze und Hauskatze
Können Sie eine Wildkatze von einer Hauskatze unterscheiden? Leider kommt es immer wieder vor, dass junge Wildkatzen versehentlich von Menschen mit nach Hause genommen werden. Für die Europäische Wildkatze, die vor 100 Jahren fast als ausgerottet galt, bedeutet das großen Streß. Denn die Wildkatze hat mit unseren Hauskatzen, die alle von der afrikanischen Falbkatze abstammen, nur das getigerte Aussehen gemein. Die Wildkatze ist fast nicht zähmbar und kann zur Gefahr für Menschen werden, weil sie ihm heftige Kratz- und Bißwunden beibringen kann. Da die Wildkatze inzwischen wieder viele Mittelgebirgsregionen besiedelt, machen die Landesregierung und der Tierschutzbeirat Rheinland Pfalz nun mit einer Plakataktion auf die Verwechslungsgefahr von Wild- und Hauskatze aufmerksam. In Text und Bild zeigt das Poster mit dem Titel „Würden Sie eine Wildkatze erkennen?“ (anklicken) die Merkmale von jungen und erwachsenen Wildkatzen. Und so sieht es aus:
